MILLER HUDSON SAYS: “If you want to put your finger on the election scales in a 50/50 state like Colorado, you require a strategy that shaves one or two percent off the total vote.”
PETE WEBB SAYS (REFERRING TO DENVER POST): “It’s more evident that only old dogs like me and political hound Steve Welchert relish picking a skinny pack of recyclable material off the porch every morning. But I sent Welchert into apoplexy last week when I told him I can read the Post on my iPad in five minutes, and will likely drop the print edition.”
NEW ROMNEY CAMPAIGN SLOGAN? He’s not Obama.
LAURA CARNO SAYS: Democrats are wrong to assume that they have figured out what issues motivate women voters.
IS THIS A CASE OF LAWYERS TALKING OUT OF SCHOOL? Ballot lawsuit.
TRUE, BUT THEN, THE BILL DIDN’T GET TO THE FLOOR: Following this year’s retirements of state Reps. B.J. Nikkel, R-Loveland, and Don Beazley, R-Broomfield, Cheri Gerou, who represents a heavily Republican district in rural Jefferson County, is the only House Republican who has actually voted for civil unions legislation on the ballot this fall.
BOOKING THEIR TICKETS: Democrats off to Charlotte.
SILLY SEASON: Brittany Pettersen says she’s nice but no pushover.
