WHERE WE ENDED UP in the do-over session.
JUST THREE BILLS in three days.
THE DO-OVER SESSION ended Wednesday with some hard feelings and the deaths of a few bills that had been given a second chance, The Post’s Tim Hoover reported. “Gov. Hickenlooper’s special session has now been shown to be unnecessary,” said House Speaker Frank McNulty, R-Highlands Ranch. “Gov. Hickenlooper convened the special session for political purposes and is clearly reading from President Obama’s campaign playbook as he attempts to distract voters from the real issue: the economy.”
MOURNING DEATH OF CIVIL-UNIONS BILL: Summit County gays.
YOU TELL US WHETHER THE STORY DELIVERS ON THE HEADLINE: Media critic Jason Salzman tells “The Untold Story Of Why GOP Extremists Killed Civil Unions.” It’s on HuffPo.
IT’S THE OFFICIAL START OF THE ELECTION SEASON: Celebrate by buying the 700-page (!) Civica Guide To The 2012 Colorado Statehouse Elections, an e-book that’s now on sale ($9.99) at Amazon.com. If you own an iPad, download the free Kindle app, buy the e-book and begin reading it in five minutes or less! The guide will soon be available at Apple iBooks, Barnes and Noble Nook and Google Books. Best thing: Frequent updates planned as we cycle through election season.
