WHACK-A-REPORTER? There’s something exciting about a reporter-source beat down, but it’s really thrilling when it occurs in real-time over Twitter and involves a sitting speaker of the House. The excitement began when the Grand Junction Sentinel’s Charles Ashby sent this Tweet challenging Scott Tipton’s contention that he voted in 2010 against the senior homestead exemption. @RepMcNulty lobbed back, “Wrong @OldNewsman-look at pg 1835 of 2010 House Journal. Pace-Y | Tipton-N http://ow.ly/1JvbL8#copolitics.” Ashby countered with this Tweet, but @RepMcNulty was having none of it: “Nice try @OldNewsman – wrap yourself in process MT: Go to P.1823-24 #copolitics.” The Post’s Tim Hoover simultaneously defused the situation and shilled for his own work when he Tweeted that both men should read his 2010 story detailing the complicated partisan history of the exemption.
AT LEAST THE BROUHAHA got Ashby to update his personal blog for the first time in 50 days.
