THE U.S. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT said it will announce the resolution of a 16-month nationwide probe of abusive foreclosure practices at banks including Citigroup Inc. and Wells Fargo & Co. after the collapse of the housing bubble. Colorado AG John Suthers is joining Attorney General Eric Holder at the press conference.
THINKING THEY MAYBE VIOLATED STATE ETHICS LAWS: The association representing Colorado’s appointed and elected public trustees is expected to agree that it violated state ethics laws when it paid convention expenses at a Black Hawk casino with contributions from companies and individuals it did business with, The Denver Post’s David Migoya reports. Lawyers for the Public Trustee Association of Colorado and Colorado Ethics Watch, which charged the group with the violations in a complaint to the state Ethics Commission, said they were close to signing off on a settlement that includes fines and training to prevent future violations.
