DENVER — The grass between Denver’s city hall and Colorado’s Capitol may become if Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper’s first two gubernatorial appointments today are any indicator.
Even before his fledgling transition team had time to consider possible alternate applicants, Hickenlooper announced that he’s selected his current mayoral chief of staff, Roxane White, and his current communications director, Eric Brown, to similar posts in the governor’s office.
“Roxane and Eric are two of the most talented people I know, and I am delighted they are coming to work at the state,” Hickenlooper said.
White will leave the city around Dec. 9. She was manager of the Denver Department of Human Services from 2003-2008. Brown formerly covered city government for the Rocky Mountain News, which folded in February 2009.
