STATE BILL COLORADO
With the absences from the state of Gov. Bill Ritter and Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien, Senate President Brandon Shaffer signed an executive order authorizing $3 million to fight the Reservoir Road fire near Fort Collins.
The executive order says: “By early Sunday afternoon, the fire had grown to over 200 acres and one home was destroyed with more than 50 additional homes and other structures under immediate threat from the fire. In attrition, gusty winds and dry weather threatened to exacerbate the fire, which had grown to approximately 600 acres by nightfall. Because of the fire’s proximity to state and federal lands, the city of Loveland, and residences near the fire, an aggressive response is essential.”
Executive Order D 20101-014 was authorized verbally on Sunday by Ritter.
Shaffer’s temporary service as governor was detailed in an item on the Colorado Senate Democrats’ web site.
