Probe Launched Day After Regulator’s Clash With Sen. Harvey

An investigation into a Greenwood Village mortgage brokerage wasn’t launched until the day after Colorado’s top real estate regulator told lawmakers the firm and a state senator who works there were investigative targets, The Denver Post has learned.

Division of Real Estate Director Erin Toll’s assertion that an investigation existed came March 2, just after state Senate committee hearings in which Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch, lambasted two bills Toll strongly favored, an exchange she called “vicious” and that left her feeling verbally “assaulted.”
