The controversial teacher reform bill that may change the way teachers earn and keep tenure carries a financial burden of about $240,000, according to the fiscal note attached to the bill, The Denver Post reports.

Senate Bill 191, sponsored by Sen. Michael Johnston, D-Denver, had its first hearing Wednesday. No action was taken.
