STATE BILL COLORADO
Andrew Goad, one of three GOP candidates vying to oust incumbent Democratic Rep. Ed Casso, in House District 32, pulled out of the race last week.
Goad filed withdrawal paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. Still in the race are Kaarl Hoopes and Alexander Jacobson.
Goad’s Facebook page had this note.
This letter is to inform you that I have cancelled my campaign, and I will not be seeking the nomination of the party for House District 32. Be assured I am not giving up. I am simply stepping aside and walking away in order to pursue other interests. This campaign has been a joy to be a part of, and I am grateful for all of the support I have received. I simply feel that now is not the best time for me or my family to continue with the campaign. I am fatigued. I am both physically and mentally drained. My family deserves better than this, and you deserve better than what I can put into a campaign at this time. It is both a sad and happy day for me. Sad because I feel I have put so much work into this and I feel that I am letting my supporters down, but I know they understand and respect my decision. But I am also happy. I am happy that I ran a strong campaign and now I will be able to put my efforts into putting my family first, as well as assisting with various groups and campaigns across the metro area. I wish the other candidates in the district, as well Republican candidates in Adams County and accross the state the best of luck.
Thank you,
Andrew Goad
