Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit UQM Technologies in southwest Weld County on Friday, The Longmont Times-Call reports.

Biden will be in Colorado to stump for U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey, a Fort Collins Democrat who represents the 4th Congressional District.

But he and other officials also plan to visit UQM Technologies, east of Longmont near Frederick, because the company is a success story of the federal stimulus package. Gov. Bill Ritter and Bill Rankin, CEO of UQM Technologies, are also expected to speak at the event.
