Colo. Senators Vote to Shift Real Estate Regulation

A Senate committee moved Wednesday to strip numerous powers from embattled real estate regulator Erin Toll by approving an oversight board to discipline mortgage brokers and giving her boss more say over how Toll’s division is run, The Denver Post reports. The amendments put House Bill 1141 on a collision course with co-sponsor and Speaker of the House Terrance Carroll, who believes the changes should be addressed in a separate bill.
