Colo. Legislators Worry Human Services Panel Misses points

State legislators from Larimer County adamantly expressed concerns this week that a joint House-Senate panel attempting to reform the state’s Department of Human Services, which has seen a rash of child deaths in recent years, is not doing what it was designed to do: vet issues surrounding child deaths, The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports.

“To me, the issue is the child deaths,” said Sen. Kevin Lundberg, R-Berthoud. “Much of what we heard last week was really the information of what they’ve already studied. That has something to do with the issue, but it’s not the main point.

“With limited time, I expected us to get down to brass tacks immediately.”
