STATE BILL COLORADO
GOP businessman Robert Houdeshell of Idaho Springs has filed to challenge incumbent Democrat Rep. Claire Levy in House District 13 in Boulder.
He faces an uphill fight. HD-13 is dominated by Democrats, 44 percent, and unaffiliateds, 37 percent. Republicans make up just 18 percent of registered voters in the district.
Consequently, State Bill Colorado regards HD-13 as one of 43 House districts statewide that are “less than competitive” or “not competitive.”
Houdeshell says on his campaign website: “I will promote fiscal discipline in the governance of Colorado and put our State on solid fiscal footing. I will join the team that supports TABOR, I pledge a pro-business environment with lower taxes, spending cuts and protection for the vulnerable (e.g., elderly, indigent, physically and mentally challenged, etc.). We can do this with a smaller government, with less bureaucracy; simply by promoting efficiencies and sound judgment.”
State Bill has updated its 2010 Election Tracker to reflect Houdeshell’s candidacy.
