Proposed Ballot Measures Target Payday Lenders

Coloradans upset with high interest rates charged by payday lenders want voters in November to cap the amount the businesses can charge on loans, The Denver Post reports. They say payday lenders now charge more than 300 percent annually and that those “excess interest rates can lead Colorado families into a debt trap of repeat borrowing.”
