Newly Elected Englewood Councilman Files To Run Against Rep. Rice

STATE BILL COLORADO
A recently elected Englewood city councilman, Rick Gillit, has filed paperwork to vie for the House District 38 seat now held by Democrat Joe Rice.
Gillit is the first Republican to enter the race.
Not only is HD-38 one of the 22 “truly competitive” districts in the state, as determined by State Bill Colorado, it is one that has vexed Republicans, who have a majority of voter registrants. The voter totals are 38 percent Republican and 31 percent each for Democrats and unaffiliateds.
State Bill Colorado has updated its 2010 Election Tracker, below, to reflect Gillit’s entry into the race.
