General Motors and Chrysler have agreed to stop lobbying against a wildly popular bill speeding through the Colorado Legislature that gives help to their terminated dealers after getting a couple of amendments tacked on to lessen the impact of the legislation, both sides said Monday, according to The Denver Business Journal. House Bill 1049, sponsored by Reps. Joe Rice, D-Littleton, and Marsha Looper, R-Calhan, gives the 39 Colorado dealers dropped by the bankrupt American auto makers limited right of first refusal if Chrysler and GM decide to reopen a franchise within a five-mile radius.
