A bill sponsored by State Rep. Glenn Vaad, R-Greeley, to recover misspent state funds passed the House Finance Committee on an 11-0 and will move on to the State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, The Greeley Tribune reports. House Bill 1176 would authorize a recovery audit on all Colorado government expenditures. Under the bill, an independent auditor would review Colorado’s budget and spending habits to recover any misspent public funds.
