A Cortez business owner running for state office has dropped his campaign because of a lack of money, The Durango Herald reports. Republican Mark Rodgers was in the hunt for the 58th House District seat currently occupied by state Rep. Scott Tipton. He bowed out of the race last week during a Montrose County Republican luncheon in Montrose. “I’ve not received the funds necessary to run for office, so I’m taking a back seat,” Rodgers said.
