Bank Retiree, A Democrat, to Run for House District 54 Seat

A Democrat plans to throw her hat into the race for House District 54. Grand Junction resident Claudette Konola has filed her paperwork with the Secretary of State’s Office, The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports.
State Bill views HD54 as strongly Republican. Its voter registration is 45 percent Republican, 33 percent unaffiliated and just 21 percent Democrat. A number of GOP candidates are vying to succeed Rep. Steve King in the seat; King is running to succeed Josh Penry in Senate District 7.
