Public schools will probably face cuts in their funding between 3 percent and 6 percent as the state wrestles with a $1.2 billion shortfall. According to the Fort Morgan Times, that was the message from Colorado Senate President Brandon Shaffer, D-Longmont, and Senate Majority Leader John Morse, D-Colorado Springs, as they spoke to school district superintendents and board of education members from across Northeast Colorado on Tuesday at the Country Steak-Out in Fort Morgan.
