Wednesday’s Ritter/O’Brien Schedules

Gov. Ritter’s Schedule For Today (Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009)

11:45 a.m. Gov. Ritter will hold a news conference to sign an executive order establishing a universal policy to protect state employees from workplace and domestic violence. Gov. Ritter has proclaimed October as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month.” Location: West Foyer, State Capitol.

5:30 p.m. Gov. Ritter and the First Lady will attend the Girl Scouts’ 2009 Women of Distinction Event, which pays tribute to 12 outstanding women from various professions. This year, First Lady Jeannie Ritter is one of the featured Women of Distinction. Location: Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Seawell Grand Ballroom, 1101 13th St., Denver.

7 p.m. Gov. Ritter will speak at the Computer Software Industry Association (CSIA) DEMO Gala 2009 VIP Reception to kick off the fourth annual event. The DEMOgala technology conference on Oct. 8 will feature over 100 speakers on 25 different panels discussing the newest trends in technology. Location: Baur’s Ristorante, 1512 Curtis St., Denver.

Lt. Gov. O’Brien’s Schedule for Today

9 a.m. Lt. Gov. O’Brien will speak and present a proclamation at Polarpalooza, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District, which supports educational cultural, artistic and scientific organizations in metro Denver. Location: Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele St.

10:15 a.m. Lt. Gov. O’Brien will speak to the Metro Mayors Caucus about Colorado’s proposal for a federal Race to the Top education-reform grant. Location: Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, 1445 Market St., 4th Floor Conference Room, Denver.
