STATE BILL COLORADO
Gov. Bill Ritter on Monday declared that the state’s economy is recovering but that revenues lag that recovery. Consequently, Colorado’s compelled to cut $240 million more from its state budget this year.
“We’ve already closed shortfalls of $1.8 billion,” the governor noted in a late-afternoon press conference in his office. “We’ll move quickly, thoughtfully and responsibly to once again tighten our belts.”
